French and Celtic Programs

Traveler's Dream offers concerts of strictly French and/or Celtic music for concerts, festivals, special events, and educational programs.  

Celtic Concerts -  With a wide repertoire of songs and tunes from Ireland, Scotland, and England, Traveler's Dream has appeared at a variety of Celtic and International events.  Spirited tunes are played on the Irish flute and penny whistle, guitar, mandolin, and bouzouki.

French Concerts - The songs and tunes included in our repertoire are representative of the traditional music of France, French-Canada, and areas of French settlement in the United States, particularly the Great Lakes region.  These songs are truly "folk songs" in the sense that they have stayed alive in the oral traditions of French speakers in many countries for over two hundred years.  

NEW!!  A CELTIC MIDWINTER CELEBRATION
Traveler’s Dream presents a treasury of heartwarming songs to celebrate the winter season, Christmas and the New Year.  Listeners will enjoy the festive sounds of traditional carols from the Celtic lands as well as lively jigs and reels played on the Irish flute, concertina, bouzouki, and tin whistle.  Michael Lewis and Denise Wilson will tell how each song relates to the ancient traditions and unique holiday customs of Ireland, Wales, England, and Brittany.  This concert of familiar favorites and uncommon musical gems gives voice to a wide variety of religious traditions and captures the wondrously mystical nature of Celtic spirituality.  Like a soothing mug of warm wassail, these songs will kindle the spirit with their messages of hope, good cheer, the beauty of winter, and the joyful gatherings of family and friends!
